At times you may come across an issue with the lock for your CBU. Here is some information below on how to handle those issues.
Should you need to replace your lock, there are a few simple steps to do this. The lock is a common mail door lock.
Item USPS-L-1172C. You can purchase just the lock cylinder or the entire cylinder and latch assembly. The cylinder and latch assembly is referred to as a USPS-L-1172C Type F Tenant Door Lock. These can be purchased online, Amazon, or any local locksmith.

If the door is closed and you are unable to access the inside of the door you will need to contact your local post office to have a maintenance man for the Post Office meet you onsite. They can unlock the main door so you can access the back of your lock.
At times in winter your lock may become frozen and you may be unable to turn the keys. A standard lock deicer is recommended to free up the lock. This can be purchased from any local hardware store or automotive supply store.

We are not responsible for lawn mowing, snow removal, clearing of overgrown brush or other upkeep around your CBU. Questions or concerns regarding maintenance around your CBU should be directed to your HOA leadership. If your development does not have an HOA, maintenance around the CBUs is the responsibility of the homeowners within your community. It is not uncommon for USPS to skip delivery if snow and brush is not removed from around the CBUs.
